Structural Design Manager

Amazon is seeking a Design Manager with strong structural proficiency to support the development and implementation of design standards across multiple Global Customer Fulfillment (GCF) building programs.
This role will serve as the primary liaison between key internal Amazon design stakeholder teams, the GCF Design and Construction team, external design teams and general contractors to aid design development and increase standardization across all Amazon GCF building sites.

This role will contribute to the continuous improvement of individual project designs while influencing the strategic innovative for our next generation of automated facilities.
Responsibilities:
Develop a clear understanding of current GCF technical design standards/templates and support the alignment of projects for the same Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for Structural, and related, building systems, design standards and building program templates on multiple Amazon GCF program buildings Support Amazon pre-construction and construction management teams for a technical bulletin implementation Support internal development and implementation of Building Information Modeling (BIM) standards for building systems and contribute to clash detection project reviews Support innovative sustainability targets as identified by Amazon Worldwide Sustainability Lead design reviews and workshops that drive alignment on key design issues, design practices, new building designs, and initiatives with the focus of reducing the cost of construction and maintenance while enhancing associate experience and operational excellence Collaborate and coordinate with a wide variety of internal operations, design and engineering stakeholders to increase the efficiency and standardization of design across domestic and global facilities.
Coordinate design development with third-party program- and site-specific third party architects, engineers, subcontractors and internal stakeholders Serve as primary technical Structural SME for design reviews of multiple building program templates and site-specific designs Identify and lead innovative design strategies into current and future Amazon building templates and designs Lead review and response to program-wide structural Requests for Information (RFIs) Maintain program-wide structural lessons learned repository and lead implementation into future designs Demonstrate proficiency in the design and detailing of structural systems with a clear understanding of the impacts of structural design on adjacent components and systems.
Works independently while earning trust and building strong rapport across a broader team Takes complete ownership, ensuring multiple design programs and several in-flight construction projects are supported Clear understanding of field constructability preferences, including project sequencing and scheduling constraints Thinks and operates strategically, efficiently, and frugally in all role responsibilities Defines complex program requirements and goals Accelerates progress by seeking out the best decision and being the responsible decision-maker in critical design discussions Identifies key design/construction constraints Escalates critical design decisions or issues to appropriate internal stakeholders Balances expediency, quality and resources through prioritization Manages efficient and organized meetings Leads detailed design discussions while ensuring program-level goals are met The role will be based in Seattle WA and will include 30% travel to domestic construction sites.

Estimated Salary: $20 to $28 per hour based on qualifications.

The fraudster will send a check to the victim who has accepted a job. The check can be for multiple reasons such as signing bonus, supplies, etc. The victim will be instructed to deposit the check and use the money for any of these reasons and then instructed to send the remaining funds to the fraudster. The check will bounce and the victim is left responsible.
