Opus Bank is searching for a highly motivated self-starter to work in a dynamic Commercial Business Banking environment. The Senior Portfolio Analyst focuses on managing a credit portfolio of middle market account relationships within a specific market area. General responsibilities include working with Senior Management, Client Managers and Credit Administration to originate, monitor and grow middle market relationships.
Responsibilities include, but will not be limited to:
Responsible for adherence to all compliance programs, including but not limited to, completion of all required and assigned training modules.
Understands and complies with requirements of all laws and regulations applicable to position.
Provide support of underwriting and verification of risk-assessment analysis on credit request packages to be submitted for approval. Ensure packages are complete, accurate, and adhere to policy.
Specifically accountable for credit underwriting and origination, portfolio monitoring, renewals and annual reviews, coordination of pricing, and for revenue growth, cross-sell and relationship profitability.
Support the Relationship Managers in the administration of the business portfolio of the Region in order to achieve the desired results of quality, profitability, and growth.
Monitor and track all financial reporting and covenant requirements for loan portfolio.
Inspect credit files and loan systems information to ensure accuracy and data integrity.
Work closely with assigned Loan Processors to ensure all client-related documentation and administrative issues are resolved on a timely basis.
Keep abreast of changing business and economic developments which impact the loan portfolio, its profitability, and banking in general.
Qualifications
The ideal candidate possesses:
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Understanding of financial and cost accounting principles.
Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications and other banking software (i.e. Navigator and Credit Quest).
Strong knowledge of the bank's products.
Ability to travel as needed, occasionally overnight.
Bachelor's degree in accounting, a business field or equivalent education and related training.
Graduate degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics is a plus.
Five years of experience in banking industry or related work experience.
Experience with spreadsheet and word processing applications.
High degree of quantitative analysis skills.
