Senior Program Manager
Expedia, the world leader in online travel, is looking for a high energy and technical Program Manager to join the Lodging Pricing and Selection Optimization (LPSO) team. Travel retailing is moving into a new phase with lots of exciting opportunities for Expedia, and the LPSO team is chartered to build the next generation of distributed and scalable shopping platform based on Grid computing. We need a Program Manager who is deeply passionate about implementing high performing systems that delivers outstanding retail experience to customers.
Qualified individuals must be adept at translating complex and higher-level requirements to concrete technical deliverables, and possess strong project management skills to shepherd these deliverables from definition to deployment. You'll work closely with business and engineering teams throughout the company in a visible role that requires you to coordinate across teams, mitigate risks and balance business needs with technical constraints. The ability to motivate and lead a project team to execute against plan is also critical. Strong oral and written communication skills are a must. You must also have keen analytical skills to identify KPIs that the team can focus on, as you help team design and execute on key features
Responsibilities:
Turning business requirements into detailed user stories, with well-articulated ROI.
Driving Agile feature development and delivery; working with Scrum master, Dev and Test, and Operations
Defining and articulate project KPIs with respect to functional and system-level performance, and actively track these post-release.
Delivering clear onboarding instructions and use case explanations for clients of the platform.
Managing and supporting existing products: including investigation, troubleshooting, and collaboration with other technology groups.
Regular communication with the project team and stakeholders, ensuring all parties have accurate and current information.
Qualifications:
7
years of Software Program Management in a professional technology organization (preferably ecommerce).
A Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or a related field, or relevant technical background is required.
Proven track record of delivering complex projects.
Experience in Agile development process.
Ability to break down high-level problems and articulate solutions to various audiences (business to technical).
Proven ability to work with operations and define and monitor system-level metrics including performance.
Experience with designing high-performing web service APIs strongly preferred
