Sr. Software Development Engineer
Expedia, is one of world leading in online travel, is looking for a Senior Software Development Engineer to join the Lodging Pricing Selection Optimization (LPSO) team. Travel retailing is moving into a new phase with lots of exciting opportunities for Expedia and the LPSO team is chartered to build intelligent inventory pricing and selection systems that maximize value for our customers and suppliers. This position will provide you with ample opportunities to utilize your analytical, critical thinking and technical abilities and you will directly help drive Expedia's success.
As a Senior Software Development Engineer, you will design, implement and debug features in Expedia's inventory placement and deals discovery services. You will work on building scalable backend services using exciting new technologies such as Business Rule Engine, Grid Computing, Machine Learning, Cassandra, and Hadoop. You will drive the technical initiatives and work with other Dev Engineers, Program Managers, Test Teams in an agile development environment, deliver critical business applications and build products to improve our existing infrastructure. We need your skills, passion, and commitment to solidify our position as the leader in online travel.
Responsibilities:
oDrive technical initiatives; ensure quality software and architecture design, deliver stable and scalable code with best programming practices.
oWork with Program Managers to investigate requirements and to contribute to project definitions.
oWork with test team to ensure excellent product quality.
oInnovate the existing infrastructure using new technologies.
oMentor junior software engineers.
Qualifications:
oBS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent.
o6
years of software development experience. Experience in enterprise web services is a plus.
oExcellent coding skills. Experience with Java highly desirable.
oThorough understanding of software design principles, algorithms, data structures, and multithreading concepts.
oStrong verbal and written communication skills.
oStrong problem solving skills.
