Position Description: Coordinate changes to computer databases, test and implement the database applying knowledge of database management systems for internet travel service company. Lead SQL, NoSQL database design. Specifically, collaborate with application engineers, program managers, and test teams to deliver high-performing, scalable, and maintainable database systems to meet demand of critical business applications. Transfer business requirements into data models. Develop ETL (Extra, Transform, and Load) scripts. Provide technical support to application development teams, and coordinate and communicate with database administrators and information technology staff. Perform detailed analysis on locked requirements. Perform risk analysis on application, and refine estimates based on analysis. Participate in application design. Review technical design with project manager and test team. Implement designed features using Java technologies and SQL Server, Big Data, and NO SQL as backend. Participate in code reviews, adhere to coding standards and development practices. Participate in production application deployment and support post-deployment maintenance and feature enhancements. Support existing legacy applications and provide bug fixes/feature enhancements.
Requirements: Employer will accept Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related technical field and 3 years of work experience in job offered or 3 years of work experience in a computer-related occupation. Experience must include: 1) MS SQL Server, SQL Server 2008, Oracle Database, MySQL; 2) Online Transaction Processing space; 3) Database modeling, and writing stored procedures, functions, and triggers; 4) Database performance profiling and tuning; 5) Designing, developing, testing/QA, and/or implementing software applications and/or systems; 6) C, C#, PL/SQL, Object Oriented Technologies; 7) Technical presentation skills, Unix, algorithm development and implementation; 8) SQL Server and SQL Server Business Intelligence Solutions. Experience may be gained concurrently.
