The main function of a Content Writer is to write technical materials, such as equipment materials, appendices, or operating and maintenance instructions.
A typical technical writer is responsible for organizing, editing and maintaining technical records and files.
Job
Responsibilities:
Organize material and complete writing assignment according to set standards regarding order, clarity, conciseness, style and terminology Maintain records and files of work and revisions Confer with client to establish technical specifications and to determine subject material to be developed for publication Scope of services include:
Migrate docs from the Power BI GitHub repo to the Fabric repo with editorial work and removing duplicate content.
Test and update the QuickStart and tutorial docs with the UI changes, terminology updates, broken links, getting rid of excessive screens etc.
Improve content freshness by addressing customer feedback, GitHub issues.
Update Analysis services content with Data analysis experience (DAX) examples, improving existing examples, verifying syntax etc.
Collaborate with Technical writers to organize the content into the right buckets.
Editorial work to bring grammar and spelling up to minimum requirements.
Content quality updates and updates to meet the doc publishing pipeline requirements.
Responds to editorial and reviewer feedback.
Attend standup meetings with Microsoft project team to plan, scope, and discuss queries, etc.
Accept work items from Program Managers in the business with drafted updates to documentation.
Converts specific feedback from writers and Program Managers into documentation.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field such as computer science or English, journalism, communications 2-4 years' experience required Experience in in creating documentation for a technical audience 4 years of excellent writing, editing, and communication skills Ability to read some programming code Critical thinking and problem-solving skills Experience working with markdown, git, and GitHub as a content management system 4 years of experience with Power BI and Analysis Services 3-4 years of coding experience using PowerShell, Dax queries.
