Associate's degree THIRA Health seeks a Mental Health Technician with excellent communication, interpersonal, and administrative skills.
The ideal candidate must be organized, proactive, flexible, a team player, and have experience working in, or expressed interest in pursuing a healthcare work environment with direct mental health patient interaction.
Job Duties Overview:
Support and assist psychotherapists, nurses, and dietary staff in creating and maintaining a safe and therapeutic milieu environment Observe and report changes in patient's behaviors, physical symptoms, and mental health status to the clinical team Serve as point of contact for new patients entering the program orienting them to program structure, space and rules Co-facilitate community meetings with therapy staff, encourage group engagement Participate in milieu activities, reinforce effective interactions and provide redirection for ineffective interactions Provide supported interventions in the milieu to facilitate patients practicing DBT skills Assist with meal/snack preparation with direction from dietary staff Support Diet Technician & CNA responsibilities as needed (vitals, snack/meal prep, medication passes, bag checks, etc.
) Requirements:
Associate's degree or equivalent experience; Bachelor's preferred Must be able to regularly support programming on one or more weekend days Must possess a valid Driver's License, clean driving record, and the ability to transport patients safely in facility vehicle Must be able to successfully pass a criminal background check (Federal & State)
