We are looking for an entry-level Software Dev Engineer to join our team. You are early in your career and eager to learn and have a strong desire to make an impact. You should have good knowledge of data structures, algorithms, and be comfortable in applying them to novel problems. Responsibilities:
Contribute new features to a world-class service platform creative problem solving.
Explore and adapt standards-based and open source solutions, connecting them to existing Expedia technologies and infrastructure.
Leverage cloud computing technologies to help Expedia innovate faster and create new user experiences, while reducing costs and time to market.
Requirements:
Intermediate competence in at least one computer language
Experience with e-commerce systems
Demonstrated ability to learn and apply new technologies
Demonstrated ability to understand and implement moderately difficult solutions
Knowledge of software design patterns and continuous delivery principles
Objected Oriented Programming skills for implementing web technologies
Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytical skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Preference given to candidates with any of the following:
Strong skills with Java Spring framework, in particular Spring MVC development experience
Experience with system monitoring and production analytics
Experience with Amazon Web Service (AWS)
Experience with dynamic languages like Ruby, Scala, or Groovy
Experience with new SQL technologies like Mongo, HBase, and Hive
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field.
