Position Description
We seek a Sr. Software Dev Engineer to join our team. You are an experienced developer who has work on major projects from design to full deployment. You are an expert with software and you know your tools well. Ideally you have deep expertise with Java, Spring framework and the world of open source technologies. You should have a passion for creating and continuously improving mid-tier services that power great user experiences. You should be a life-time learner who pays attention to changes in the travel and software industry looking for opportunities to improve the system you work on. You enjoy Scrum, developer-written test automation, and continuous delivery.

Responsibilities:
Engineer a world-class service platform with rapid iteration and creative problem solving.
Explore and adopt standards-based solutions, connecting them to existing Expedia technologies and infrastructure.
Leverage cloud computing technologies to help Expedia innovate faster and create new user experiences, while reducing costs and time to market.
Requirements:
Minimum 5 years of relevant development experience
Deep expertise with Java, Spring framework, in particular Spring MVC
Deep expertise in technology practices of high volume e-commerce web sites
Strong event monitoring and production analytic experience
Knowledge of software design patterns and continuous delivery principles
Strong Objected Oriented Programming skills for implementing web technologies
Strong customer focus, excellent problem solving and analytic skills.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
BS or MS in Computer Science or related field only
Preference given to candidates with the following:
Experience with Amazon Web Services (AWS)
Experience with Ruby, R, or Scala
Experience with new data technologies like Mongo, HBase, and Hive
